To an adult: "I never adjusted to those stairs outside of Alexander. I can't believe I never adjusted in those six weeks of summer school. I don't like them. Let's go around the other side of Alexander."
To a friend: "I swear those six weeks of Bridge never helped. I can't believe I'm not use to it by now. These stairs are killers, man. You guys want to go around to the other one?"
What would Holden Say: "These stairs are a pain. I hate those sonuvabitches that leave their trash on the staircase. Someone needs to get a hold of these asses who don't clean up after themselves. Goddamn it, I'm just going to the other side."
