tuesdays with Morrie book review

Mitch Albom is an author of several books. Tuesdays with Morrie has personally touched me and is memoir. It was based on actual conversations that have been recorded as been told throughout the book. Mitch is someone who busies himself in work and accomplishments. Until one day, he sees his professor 20 years later, Morrie. Mitch begins to remember his class and how it made him inspired and think, well this normal because it is a psychology class. It also turns out the Morrie has ALS and his days are being numbered. ALS is a disease where your nerves no longer work with your body. Most people who have this disease start at the legs and works itself up. Morrie was diagnosed on August 1994. Mitch happens to see his professor on “Nightline”. A week later he decides to visit him. Things go very well and just like the class, they both agreed to meet on Tuesdays.
Mitch flies out from Detroit to New York to meet with his professor every Tuesday. The first meeting on Tuesday they begin to talk about the world. Not exactly how you think but they reunite after so many years. On the second Tuesday they talk about feeling sorry for yourself. Morrie admits he does in the mornings but he looks forward to people visiting him and someone he can talk to. Each Tuesday they talked about the things Mitch wanted clarity on. He made a list containing these subjects: death, fear, aging, greed, marriage, family, society, forgiveness, and a meaningful life. Throughout the book you will see how this teacher and student bond again. Personally, it made me think but it’s more for people who are on their career and don’t know what to do.
Tuesdays with Morrie is a book of lessons that are taught by Morrie and passed down to the reader the Mitch. This quote was in the book, “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” This statement is very true and this book will show you what it means. Tuesdays with Morrie, everyone should be more like him.
